Mentoring Initiative of Madison County
The Mentoring Initiative of Madison County helps to empower those who empower youth in Madison County to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential.
By becoming part of the social network of community members who care about the youth, a mentor can help youth develop and reach positive academic, career, and personal goals. While it is not an overwhelming commitment, the commitment of a mentor to a student is invaluable! The Initiative trains mentors and connects them to existing, partnering programs, who in turn match them with a student for the period of at least one academic year. The Initiative is also committed to collaborating with local agencies to create a positive, effective, and sustainable mentoring network to support students in our community. Currently, we are focused on 7-9th graders as a focus group for collecting data and identifying the impact of mentoring, both academically and in regard to aspiration.
