Volunteer Recognition & Annual Meeting-March 11th

Dick May named 2008 Volunteer of the Year

Dick May, of R.L. May & Company will be recognized as the United Way of Madison County's 2008 Volunteer of the Year at our annual meeting Tuesday, March 11. The event, which begins at 5 p.m. at Anderson Country Club, is open to all donors and volunteers. Reservations can be made in advance by calling 643-7493. Cost is $15 per person.

Following an appetizer buffet, Keith Trent, board chair for United Way, will emcee the program that will feature a new shorter meeting format focused on recognition of volunteer leadership over the past year. In addition to officers and board, committee members for marketing, community impact and fund raising will be recognized, along with corporate and individual leadership givers. Past board members, officers and committee chairs will be recognized for their tenure.

Nancy Vaughan, president will provide a 2008 campaign forecast, a 2007 fund raising campaign update and an overview of the community initiatives driving the United Way's movement in changing community conditions.

Keith Trent will present the 2008 Volunteer of the Year award to Dick May to conclude the program. This annual award recognizes the achievements of outstanding volunteers that have contributed time, talent and financial support to our community.
