United Way Reports Campaign Results
The United Way of Madison County fund raising committee lead by Campaign Chairperson Michael Collette announced 2009 campaign results during breakfast Tuesday, December 15 at The Edgewood Golf & Dining. A goal of $909,000 was announced at the September 15 campaign kick off event. “Currently giving is down compared to this time last year. We are not to the point of where we need to be to fund the agencies at our current level of funding. However, we will continue to push into the new year to raise enough money to remain at our current level of program funding and hopefully raise more dollars to fund the increased needs we are seeing due to the economy,” stated Nancy Vaughan, president. Mike Collette added, “We want everyone to know that it’s still not too late to give. Our staff and volunteers will be hard at work over the next few months encouraging individuals that have not yet made a pledge to do so.” Pledges may be made directly to United Way of Madison County by calling 765-643-7493 or online at www.unitedwaymadisonco.org.
Campaign leadership and recognition of notable campaign participation was the focus of the report breakfast. “This year local employers conducted more special events to incent employees to make contributions. The workplaces that incorporated the LIVE UNITED message in their campaigns saw an increase in employee giving. We will share a few examples of the fun workplace special events conducted this campaign with the rest of the community during the breakfast meeting,” said Nancy Anderson, vice president.
