Brown, Cook, Erskine, Maier, and Spangler join United Way Board

United Way of Madison County will begin 2011 with five new board members serving the organization that include Lindsay Brown, Jonathon Cook, Gary Erskine, Susie Maier, and Brett Spangler. Board members completing their terms December 31, 2010 include Rich DeHaven, serving on the board since 1995; Mike Harris, serving on the board since 2008; Duane Hoak, serving on the board since 1999; and Sandy Volk, serving on the board since 1998.

Lindsay Brown works for the Urban League of Madison County. Lindsay is also a board member of Madison County Black Chamber of Commerce and the chairman of the Anderson Learning Academy. He resides in Anderson with his wife Janna and son.

Jonathon Cook is an attorney at Sansberry, Dickmann Freeman & Builta. Jonathon is a 2010 graduate of the Leadership Academy of Madison County. He and his wife Kristin reside in Anderson.

Gary Erskine is a life-long resident of Anderson and 33-year employee of Star Bank. He is a board member of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce.

Susie Maier is the Director of Outpatient Services at Aspire Indiana. She is a graduate of the Leadership Academy of Madison County and a part-time professor at Anderson University.

Brett Spanger is a CPA at Ent & Imler, CPA. Brett has served on the United Way Community Impact Committee and Safety Net Vision Council. He resides in Anderson with his family.

2010 United Way officers include Michael Collette, chair; Deborah Rasper, vice-chair; Angela Cassidy, secretary; Kirk Klabunde, treasurer; and Keith Trent, immediate past chair.

Continuing to serve on United Way of Madison County board of directors are Michael Austin, Jim Brown, Ms. Kim Contos, Dana Donahue, Lisa Floyd, David Happe, Jan Kaye, Richard May, Rick Moore, LeRoy Quashie, Marj Shell, Obadiah Smith, Bruce Stansberry, Tom VanOsdol, and Jim Willey.
