United Way Announces Madison County Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program Funding Award
Madison County organizations will receive $65,903 in federal funds under the Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program. The amount is $27,943 less than last year’s award. Congress has appropriated $119,760,000 million to supplement and expand emergency food and shelter programs. The National Board, chaired by FEMA, consists of representatives from The Salvation Army, American Red Cross, United Jewish Communities, Catholic Charities, USA, National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA, and United Way of America. All organizations in Madison County are now invited to apply for part of these funds to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in Madison County.
