What is Senior Link-Are You OK?

The Senior Link-Are You OK? Program provides check in, telephone reassurance and friendly phone calls to area older adults or disabled individuals who are homebound.   Are You OK is a collaboration between the Anderson Police Department, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the United Way of Madison County.

Why Become an Are You OK volunteer?

Are You OK volunteers help fellow Madison County residents who are trying to remain independent in their homes but require some help to do so.

What Would I Do?

Are You OK volunteers are matched with a member(s) and call them once a week at a scheduled time.  Calls are meant to be social, but also provide an opportunity to ensure their basic needs are being met.  If a member does not answer, there is an established procedure to follow so you can reach their emergency contact as well as the local police department to check on their welfare.

Where?

Volunteers may call from their own phone or may schedule to call from the Anderson Police Department.

How?

Sign up for RSVP and become a volunteer that wants to make a difference.  With the guidance of our local law enforcement and our United Way you will become the best Are You OK volunteer you can be!
