Did you know that you can file your taxes for free?

If your 2016 household income was $64,000 or less, then you can file your taxes for free! is a self-preparation and filing service that provides free state and federal tax filing assistance for qualified taxpayers. You will have easy, fast and secure filing that is saved at every step and even have the ability to start filing and come back later! Sponsored by the Walmart Foundation, in partnership with  United Way, the MyFreeTaxes national services have helped millions of families claim nearly $8 billion in tax credits and refunds since 2009. Tax filing software is provided through H&R Block.

You can search on the IRS website for more tax preparation locations. If you are capable of travel, there are some locations within 35 miles of Madison County. Please note that availability is extremely limited, and many services ended on April 15, 2016. Call 2-1-1 for more tax location information.
